Our November speaker is Melissa R. Marsh who is the City Manager of Madison Heights.
Prior to being appointed City Manager in Madison Heights in 2018, Melissa served as the Deputy City Manager/Finance Director. No one understands better the effect on foreclosure properties on the city’s tax base and resources. Hear how Madison Heights uses the tax foreclosure process to help turn around these properties and stimulate the neighborhoods. Tax foreclosed properties are often a drain on a community’s resources especially code enforcement. Lack of maintenance, code enforcement issues, aesthetics, deterioration and a reduced tax base are typical problems. Hear how Madison Heights’ tax foreclosure program achieves immediate cleanup of tax foreclosed property to resolve code enforcement issues.
